ART FAIR TOKYO is the largest fair of its kind in Japan, featuring high-quality domestic and international galleries covering a wide range of genres and periods of artworks from antiques, arts and crafts, nihonga, and modern art to contemporary art. ART FAIR TOKYO began in 2005, and since 2007, it has been held at the Tokyo International Forum in each April.
We were worrying about dwindling number of visitors because of the effect of the earthquake. However, contrary to expectations, there were so many visitors. And thanks to you all, we sold all of our artworks!
The three artworks by Ikenaga Yasunari, who has many requests to handle his artworks from overseas in recent days, were sold out on the 1st day. And another Japanese-style painter, Abe Kiyoko’s paintings also sold out during the event. The one of her artworks was bought by a man from Switzerland. We felt a renewed feeling that how great popularity these two artists had.
On the other hand, foreign visitors seemed lesser than usual years. We hope that the recovery progress speedy, and people who love Japanese art will come back to Japan with an easy mind as soon as possible.
We update our website continuously, so please feel free to contact us for any questions!
