Utagawa Hirokage was an ukiyo-e artist who was taught by Hiroshige I. He created the humorous ukiyo-e series, “Edo meisho Doukeduzukushi (Laughable scenes of famous landscapes in Edo)”.
Some night stalls selling goods for children can be seen on the Ueno Hirokoji's shopping street. The stall's table is turned over and toys or sweets are scattered on the street and thus making much ado. Some are laughing and pointing at the mess and some look at a loss. Facial expressions of passengers on the street evoke very humorous impression. A white sign of the Kimono store (Gofuku-ya) on the upper right is a kind of advertisement. Ukiyo-e sometimes served as print media for such advertisement.
Good impression and color Condition: slight folding line on the upper left
