Utagawa Hirokage is one of disciples of well-known artist, Utagawa Hiroshige.
This is the 35th pieces of Meisho Edo Hyakkei (works depicted the famous views of Edo ).
Here, Hirokage depicted one of the scenery of Edo that master's Hiroshige drew adding humorous characters.
Azuma-no Mori ( Azuma forest) is located in Sumidaku, Tokyo . Drunken three men and woman are depicted here, and they are dancing and not caring about the sake (Japanese alcohole ) spilled. Those merry and in high spirits do not change even now when Japanese go for Hanami (cherry blossom-viewing).
The series title Edo meisho doke zukushi 35 and the title of this work Modori azuma no mori sakurami are shown at upper right of the image. The artist signature is at the red reatangular cartouche to the lower left.
Good impression and colors. A wormhole on the right top of the image(at the series title)
