The ship (yakata-bune) is sailing on the calm water surface between the trunks of red pine trees.
Hasui , the artist of this work, was traveling around the Kyoto Arashiyama in February 1933, and the draft of it might be designed at that time. The same structure of it had already tried in another work known as "Fuyu no Rankyo".

As you see this work, the both sides of banks emphasize the flow of the river and sense of parallel. On the contrary, the elongated pine trees give you a vertical impression. These create unique visual effects.
In addition, he combined one of the well-known Japanese beauty, cherry blossom, with this plate in order you to feel a bright spring day.

The title of the plate Haru no Arashiyama (Spring of Arashiyama) and production date "Showa 8 nen 4 gatu (April,1933)"is shown on the bottom margin. The artist signature Hasui and his seal are to the lower right of the plate. The publisher information "Watanabe Shozaburo" is given on the right margin.

Very good impression,colors and condtion
