Yamamura Koka (1886-1942) created a series of actor prints known as Rien no hana, which was published by Watanabe between 1920 and 1922.

At that time, he was one of the great artists together with Hasui (well-known for his landscape) and Shinsui Ito (well-known for his actor painting).

Famous is his series "Shanghai Cafe Dancers" because of his modern Western appeal in the style of the twenties.

People see the great ukiyo-e artist Sharaku in Koka's artworks. Vivid color and lively facial expressions of the actors are brilliantly glowing with glittering mica paints on the back.

As it was mentioned with Sharaku, who was known for "revealing the true nature of the actors too much through his artworks", Koka's woodblock prints depicting actors also deeply describes their feelings of the very best moment.

Toyonari (Koka's art name)ga is shown to the upper left in the image.
This is published by Watanabe in 1920.

Very good impression,colors and condition.
The print is attached to a removable paper frame.
