In this book told is the Tale of Awano Jurobei that is the folklore of Tokushima Pref., and also performed in Joruri play along the script by Chikamatsu Monzaemon. Long time ago, Awano jurobei decided to be a robery himself and went up to Osaka with his wife to seek a treasured sword stolen by robberies. A few years later, their daughter Otsuru showed up at their house in pilgrim look, but her mother, Oyumi, didn't reveal she was her mother, in fear of everybody's knowing she was robery's daughter, and just let her go home.
