This is a novel "Keian Taiheiki" inspired by the attempt of rebellion against Shogunate by Yui Sessho. "Keian Taiheiki" is well-known as a play of Kabuki. Yui Sessho called himself a descendant of Kusunoki Masashige and gathered supporters to rebel Shogunate. One of them, Maruhashi Chuya, was in charge of measuring the depth of the moat of Edo Castle, but was doubted during the mission. To keep the secret, Chuya pretended a drunk, but his father-in-law demanded him to clear the debt and divorce his daughter. In trouble, Chuya told the truth to his father-in-law who, asonished, informed Shogunate. In this way, Chuya was arrested.
