Kamoshita Choko (1890-1967) Japanese painter in Taisho and Showa era. He learned from Matsumoto Fuko, and showed his artworks at the Bunten and Teiten, honarable expositions in Japan. He created a lot of illustrations, especially for period novels like "Nemuri Kyoshiro" by Shibata Renzaburo. He also used to be a member of art related associations in Japan.

A woman's profile staring at the distance with empty eyes. Her slightly rose cheek and smooth face line strengthen her beauty. Her clothes with patterns of red leaves and autumn herbs naturally tell us which season this artist intended to express in his artwork. Although, in Edo era, ukiyo-e was created by a group of specialists who undertook each process of creation, after Meiji era, artists produced all by themselves throughout the creation to improve the ukiyo-e art. This artwork is one of them which were produced in such a way.

There is a little tear in the upper part.
