This is a scene from the battle at Kurenjo, a town along the Yalu River in present Ryonei-sho of China, in the begging of the Russo-Japanese War. Japanese Army in the left and Chinese Army in the right. The soldiers are lining, forming a complicated perspective connecting to the background having a mountain and town in the darkness. The troop is surrounded by something like dust or smoke of gunfire, that further enhances the chaos.
Triptych connected and pasted on paperboard. Good color, slightly foxed.
