Tsukihyakushi is the representative artwork by Tsukioka Yoshitoshi. 100 pieces of paintings related to "moon" began to be created in 1885 and completed in the previous year of his death.
The subject of this artwork is Maeda Geni, Warrior in the Sengoku era. It is said that Maeda Geni made the poem lying on the veranda in a temple that he doesn't like cloudy sky but tonight it teaches him how valuable the moonlight is.
