Tsukioka Yoshitoshi depicted a lot of mysterious, inteligent and sexy beauties. This artwork belongs to a set of 32 aspects which subjects are female figures given different discriptions. This shows Honen's unique sense. Also this is known as one of his representative beauties, succeeding Utagawa Toyokuni III's 32 aspects.
The subtitle of this artwork is "Looks cool, the culture of Geiko since the Meiji 5th or 6th". The subject is a woman making a pose at the riverside in the thick fog. Her hair is swung blown by wind that looks moist. It's like we could feel the touch of wind which passes through her sleeves of Kimono. Here is depicted a moment of coolness in the hot humid summer in Japan.
