Tsukioka Yoshitoshi depicted a lot of mysterious, inteligent and sexy beauties. This artwork belongs to a set of 32 aspects which subjects are female figures given different discriptions. This shows Honen's unique sense. Also this is known as one of his representative beauties, succeeding Utagawa Toyokuni III's 32 aspects.
The subtitle of this artwork is "Looks wanting to drink, the culture of sake servers in the Ansei era". The woman is holding a cup of sake. She is a sake server, so she pours sake for customers, but never for herself. The title is reflected on the woman's expression who looks wanting to drink sake.
