Tsukioka Yoshitoshi depicted a lot of mysterious, inteligent and sexy beauties. This artwork belongs to a set of 32 aspects which subjects are female figures given different discriptions. This shows Honen's unique sense. Also this is known as one of his representative beauties, succeeding Utagawa Toyokuni III's 32 aspects.
The subtitle of this artwork is "Looks shy, the culture of young women in Meiji era". The woman is biting the sleeve of kimono stylishly loosen. Her pose leaning and looking here is melancholic.
