In this artwork, a battle in Pyongyan during the Sino-Japanese War is depicted. At the center is Warrior Sahouki, a Chinese legendary hero. Although his peer insisted on leaving Pyongyan, Sahouki insisted on remaining to attack back the enemy. It is said that when the Japanese Army broke into the Pyongyan Castle, Sahouki fired a cannon by himself to attack back. He died in the war, but he remained as a legend even after that. Even in Japan, a lot of artists took him as a subject for their artworks.
