We can see woman's plump body from the inside of the kimono.She bundles her black hair, and sprinkle the power on the body. However, her profile seems to be mealancholic somehow. We can estimate that this artwork was produced in 1930 from the signature. It is a work at the beginning of Showa era when the popular culture got matured.
Kobayakawa Kiyoshi (1898-1948) was a Nihonga painter who studied Bijin-ga(Beauty) under Kabureki Kiyokata. After he won a prize at 5th Teiten exbition, his Bijin-ga became famous. And then, he was also flourished in the field of Shin-Han-ga(Modern print).
