This is one of serial artworks, Tofu Zokufuku Tsukushi, created over the period from 1889 to 1890, in Meiji. The title described in alphabet is so unique and attractive. Also, the title has double meanings with a same sound, "Fuku". As the title shows, here depicted is Daikokuten, the god of agriculture, seated on the left side. Mother and daughter look like having offerings to place in front of the god. The gentle eyes of Mother looking at her daughter are impressive.
