Hiroshi Yoshida (1876-1950) was a 20th century Japanese painter and woodblock print maker. He is said one of the leading figures of the renewal of Japanese printmaking in the Meiji period (1912). The renewal was based on two groups of artists, the shin hanga (modern prints) and the sosaku hanga (creative prints) movement.

Himeji Castle specified for World Heritage. It is compared from a beautiful appearance to the Shirasagi (white heron). Pinkish sky and purple stone wall of the castle emphasize the beauty of the castle. The contrast of light and multi-colored prints hints the Western painting.

The title of this plate Himejijo is shown on the left margin, and the production date (Showa 3 nen / 1928) is at the top of it. The artist signature Hiroshi Yoshida is on the bottom margin. His seal is given to the bottom right corner of the image.
