Even if Kawano is a unknown place in Japan, we can see the details of a rural festival in the early Showa period. Yoshiida Hiroshi represent the street stalls and crowd under cherry blossoms.
Festival was one of the few entertainments of the people in those days. This print makes us feel nostalic for old days in Japan. (Production date: Showa 8 nen / 1933)

Yoshida Hiroshi (1876 – 1950) was a painter of western style oil paintings. His artistic talent was spotted by Yoshida Kasaburo, then he was taught by Koyama Shoutarou after he moved to Tokyo.
