This is a Kabuki play written by Kawatake Mokuami. Gosuke, a pupil of Zen Monk Ikkyu, saved Gosuke, a porcelain seller, and his daughter Osen, and Ogiya from a disaster. The two women were attracted by Gosuke, and Ogiya offered Gosuke to marry her daughter, but finally Gosuke chose Osen.

Utagawa Kunisada II (1823-1880) used to be a pupil of Kunisada I, but later married his daughter to take over Kunisada. Also left a lot of Sumo paintings under the name of Ichijusai or Baichoro.
